Sandra J. Harvey MSN, BS, RRT, RN

As a professional, Sandra began her journey in Utah studying pulmonary and critical care medicine. As life changed in medicine she expanded her background into nursing followed by the completion of her masters.

Ms. Harvey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Respiratory Therapy from Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. She also earned accreditation as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician and Registered Respiratory Therapist. Sandra furthered her education with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing at the University of the State of New York School of Nursing in Albany and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.

A large part of Sandra’s master’s work focused on nursing theory and philosophy. Referring to these principles assists her in understanding and evaluating each individual’s goals. Her position reflects the theory that through patient education, research and open communications, an optimistic experience will be the ultimate outcome.

As executive practice administrator for Dr. Carl N. Williams, Jr., Sandra Harvey oversees policy development, HIPAA compliance, licensure and credentialing for the private medical practice. As patient care is the primary goal of the firm, she also supervises medical office care, develops patient educational tools, programs and coordinates patient care plans. Harvey is also responsible for technical components of cosmetic procedures and assists Dr. Williams with surgical procedures.

Prior to joining Dr. Williams’ practice, Harvey previously served as pulmonary/critical care and interventional pulmonary medicine administrator for the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She also was instrumental in developing and coordinating the Obstructive Sleep Apnea program for the Veterans Administration in Las Vegas. While working at the University level Sandra also wrote several papers, during which she was published in a physicians peer review journal. Her career has involved serving on many leadership committees, executive boards and volunteering for non-profit associations.

Sandra frequently attends and participates in local, national and global health educational events. She was an invited guest speaker for American College of Chest Physicians 2003 Web-based educational strategies conference. She also served as guest speaker at the 12th World Congress for Bronchology in 2002 in Boston and participated in the previous year’s event in Yokohama, Japan.

She teaches at Touro University School of Nursing, and is an active member of the Plastic Surgery Nurses Association.

Staff

Candice Harvey is our Cosmetic Receptionist and office manager. She was born and raised in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Candy has three children. She too came to work for Dr. Williams about 3 years ago and has been an invaluable administrative assistant to the practice administrator. Candy holds an Associates Degree from South Hills School of Business Technology. Candy has a good handle on entire office practice and will assist you or refer you to the appropriate personnel. Yes, she is married to Rob.

Judy Garcia handles all of the Hand procedure and surgery scheduling. She joined Dr. Williams also about 3 years ago. Judy is the one to call if you have questions concerning your insurance authorizations, procedures, therapy or surgery scheduling. She is in the office Monday thru Thursday to assist you.

Robert Harvey is our medical/surgical assistant. He joined us 3 years ago following a move here to Las Vegas. Rob was born in Southern California, traveled the world while growing up and ended up in Pennsylvania to play football for Penn State. He played semi-pro football in Scranton Wilkes –Barre, Pennsylvania and also Kane County in Chicago. Rob is primarily responsible for the Hand side of the practice, however many of the cosmetic patients may also be served by him. Rob works extremely closely with Dr. Willliams and has become his right "hand", please feel free to ask for Rob if you have any questions concerning your hand care.
